Who we are
Larsen's Jewelry & Half Interest Pawn is a jewelry store and pawn shop at 211 N Main St, Mobridge, South Dakota 57601. This policy covers information we collect in the store, by phone or text, and through this website, halfinterestpawn.com.
What we collect
- Transaction information you provide when you pawn, sell, buy, place on layaway, or leave an item for repair: your name, address, phone number, date of birth, and the government-issued photo ID that South Dakota law and Mobridge city ordinance require us to record for pawn and buy transactions.
- Your mobile number, if you choose to opt in to text alerts.
- Website information collected automatically by our website platform, such as pages visited and general device and browser details.
How we use it
- To write and service your pawn loan, layaway, sale, or repair order.
- To meet record-keeping and reporting obligations under state law and city ordinance, including reports to local law enforcement as required for pawn and secondhand transactions.
- To send text messages you have opted in to receive (see below).
- To respond when you contact us.
Text message program
If you opt in, we send text messages about your layaway payments, pawn loan due dates, repair orders that are ready for pickup, and occasional in-store promotions. Message frequency varies. Reminders follow your own due dates, typically one to three messages per active layaway, loan, or repair; promotional messages are sent no more than a few times per month. Message and data rates may apply.
Account alerts and promotional texts are consented to separately. You opt in to account alerts by initialing Box A of our Text Alert Sign-Up form at the counter, or by texting START to (605) 566-7165. You opt in to promotional texts only by checking and initialing the separate, optional Box B on that form; texting START does not enroll you in promotions. Consent is not a condition of purchase. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message, and you can reply HELP for assistance or call (605) 845-3759. Messages are sent through our point-of-sale software and a messaging service provider acting on our behalf; they process your number only to deliver our messages and are not permitted to use it for anything else. Who we share information with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who process it on our behalf (our point-of-sale system, messaging provider, and website platform), with law enforcement and regulators where the law requires it, and where you direct us to. Mobile numbers and text opt-in information are never shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
How long we keep it
Pawn, buy, and consignment records are kept for the period state law and city ordinance require. Text opt-in records are kept while you are subscribed and for a reasonable period afterward so we can show that consent was given. Opt-out requests are honored immediately and the opt-out is retained so we do not message you again.
Your choices
